1-year old

Ok so technically you turned 1-year old about a week ago. September 11, 2009 to be exact. But I have been busy and forgetting to blog to you. I'll recap:
On your birthday, we ran some errands getting things ready for your birthday party the next day at grandma Michelle's. We had a 12-month appointment scheduled for you, but we decided that we didn't want you to get shots on your birthday! So we called and rescheduled. We went out to Applebee's for dinner with daddy's friend, Chas (it was his birthday too!). Daddy and I fed you some of our delicious Three Cheese Chicken Penne. Mmmm! You were hungry. Then the Applebee's employees brought you a sundae and sang happy birthday to you! It was so cute. You started clapping right along with the employees and smiling. After dinner, we went home and mommy undressed you all the way down to your diaper. (We were about to feed you cake. Didn't want you to get any on your clothes.) At first, you didn't know what to do with the big piece of cake. You poked it and picked it up and flipped it over. Then daddy shoved both your hands in it and your face lit up! You started digging your fingers in it, and playing with the frosting in your hands. It was the cutest thing! I took quite a few pictures so there definitely is evidence of the incident. Oh, and you did eat some of it too.

The next day was the day of your 1st birthday party! Boy, was it stressful! We had to set up tables and put up decorations. Put the food outside and make the salads. Daddy and his friend went to Sam's Club to pick up your cake and some more food items. People started showing up about 12:30. Everything started off well. Overall, you did a great job. You had your fussy moments, but you let a bunch of different people hold you (which isn't like you most of the time). You got tons of gifts too! Lots of clothes and new toys. It was a very successful day. By the end of the night, you were pooped out.

Now, today... you and I went to visit Stefanie! She always loves to see you. Then it was time to go home. Daddy, mommy, and you all went out to dinner at the Green Mill. You, little missy, are picking up on some bad manners. Lots of spitting and yelling was going on at our table. We'll have to work on those. Now, you are in bed and sleeping. When daddy checked on you, he came into the living room telling me to come in there right away. He had a big smile on his face. I walked in your room and you had Scooby on top of your head, and you were on your tummy laying on panda! You had your little tooshy somewhat up in the air as well. It was another one of the cutest things I've ever seen! You are just like daddy. Both of you sleep in very goofy positions.

Love it

It is the cutest, most adorable thing when I walk into your room when you have woken up and see you up on your knees holding the side of the crib just waiting for me or daddy to come in and get you. You've been doing that for about a week now and I just can't help but smile everytime I walk in and see you doing it. You also are drinking out of sippy cups now. We still feed you formula out of a bottle, but we give you juice and water cups everyday. I just watched you down an entire sippy cup of apple-banana juice in about 7 minutes. You are growing up so fast. Unfortunately, you have been sick the past couple of days. I had to stay home from work to take care of you. The doc thinks it's just a summer flu and you don't need to be treated with antibiotics. You're still getting fevers though so daddy and I are trying really hard to keep you hydrated. But you have been acting completely normal. Still a very happy baby. You are just a little more whiney and needy than usual. Hopefully you are feeling tons better by Monday so you can get back to day care.

Forgot!

I forgot to add that you can also go from crawling to sitting up and visa versa. A-dorable! When you're crawling you just prop yourself up onto your knees then roll your hips until you're sitting on your tush. I love it.

Crawling

Soooo today was the first day that I saw you get up on your knees and crawl. Ok ok ok so you didn't crawl across the room or anything, but you were able to slide your legs on the floor to go forward. It was so cute! I just about cried from excitement. And the invites are out for your 1st birthday party. I can't wait, baby girl! It's going to be so much fun. It seems like everyday you are getting bigger and learning something new. Time is just flying by!

Happy 11-month Birthday!

Today you are officially 11 months old. Time flies when you're having fun! Just think. In a few more months or so you will be walking. Then mom and dad will really have to keep up with you! At 11-months you can:

*scoot (army crawl) yourself all over the place

*wave hi and buh-bye

*say ma-ma and da-da

*get yourself up onto your knees, but sprawl out and scoot when you want to move somewhere

*sit up all by yourself

*stand with help, but are very wobbly still

*sometimes pull yourself to standing, but lose balance and fall over

*sleep through the night like a champ

*clap your hands

Things you love:

*your puppy and panda

*your nookie (when its needed)

*playing on the floor

*remotes and cell phones

*the dog food bowl (you are constantly crawling over to it... and we are constantly pulling you away from it)

*anything that is not a baby toy

*wires and cords

*hanging out under tables

*Hats and sunglasses

*Fruit. You absolutely love fruit.

Other facts:

*you weigh 16 pounds (not sure of your height/length)

*you have a decent amount of hair on your little noggin

*you are still a skinny, little peanut

*you wear size 2 diapers

*you wear 6-9 month onsies

*you wear 6 month tops and 6-9 month bottoms (depends on the brand)

*you have 2 bottom teeth growing in

*you sometimes take a 1 hour morning nap, and always take an afternoon nap for about 1.5 - 2.5 hours around 1:00pm (depends on where you are sleeping and how sleepy you are)

*you move around a lot in your sleep (and I mean a lot)

Eating habits:

*6 oz bottle of EnfaCare in the morning

*2 oz of formula mixed with cereal, and a bowl of fruit/veggies at most meals

*an occasional 2-4 oz bottle throughout the day

*graham crackers, saltines, cheerios, bananas, beans, and other "people" food for snacks

And I'm sure there are plenty of things I am missing, but there is just so much stuff you can do now that it is hard to remember it all in just one sitting. You have one of the best personalities ever! (I'm sure all parents say that about their kids though) And you are overall a super happy baby. You only cry when you want something. Otherwise you are all smiles. We love you, sweet pea! Happy 11-months! :)

Accidents happen

Well sweetie pie... Today you had a bit of an accident. Mommy had put you in your new stroller and strapped you in so that she could get some dishes done. All of a sudden I heard a pretty loud *thud* and turned to find you face down on the kitchen floor. I ran over and picked you up! You were screaming pretty loud. It took mommy and daddy a minute or so to calm you down. Then I brought you to the emergency room so a doctor could have a look at you and tell mommy that everything was a-ok! And guess what!? That's exactly what he said! No damage done. Just a little red bump on your head. I still have no idea how you managed to climb out of the stroller. Your nickname suits you pretty well, monkey.

Total cuteness

Although tooth number 2 came in quite a few days ago, I can now see it when you smile. Pretty soon both bottom teeth will be grown in and you'll be ready to work on some top ones! It's so cute watching you smile. Last night we stayed the night at gramma's and you had to stay in your cradle. Gramma doesn't have a crib yet. You used to fit so nicely in that cradle. Now you are just too big. You move around a lot in your sleep and the cradle was just too little for you to move anywhere. It was cute to peek in on you and see your foot sticking out between the bars. You end up in very odd positions when you sleep. Then in the morning you woke up with some major bedhead. All of the hair on your head was sticking out every which way. I couldn't help but try and take a picture of it. Unfortunately you weren't in a cooperating mood, and my phone doesn't take very good pictures sometimes. And when I picked you up from day care you smelled like vanilla wafers. Everything that happened today just seemed so darn cute to me! Your 11-month birthday is coming up in a couple days. Your growing up so fast.

Teeth and crawling

Tooth number two came in about three days ago! Yay! You wake up with about 3 spots of drool all over the sheets. Pretty darn adorable if you ask me. And yesterday you were able to get yourself onto your knees without any help from mom or dad! I see hands-and-knees crawling coming soon in your near future. Give it a few more weeks and you'll really have mommy and daddy on their toes :)

Oh my sweetie pie

So now that you've been scootin' around for the past month, we've had to block off the openings to the kitchen. We don't have gates so we use chairs or your exersaucer. You don't like this very much. You get mad/frustrated when you can't get into the kitchen. A few days ago we had your car seat in front of one of the openings and you started to pull yourself up on it. Then you lost balance and face planted right into the car seat. Just now, like right at this very minute, I had the exersaucer in front of one of the openings and you crawled right through the bottom of it to get to the kitchen! It was the funniest thing ever! You sure know what you want, and you usually want it now. Unfortunately, because of all the scootin' on the carpet, you got a blister on your big toe of your right foot. For some reason you only push off of that one toe. We try to keep socks on you at all times, but you don't seem to want to keep them on. You just pull them right off everytime! You certainly are the cutest darn thing, baby girl.

Attitude

Well you certainly have developed quite the attitude, missy miss. You know when you want attention and you want it NOW. It is so adorable! I was just hanging out on the computer and you were doing your own thing in the living room, then POOF! I turned around and there you were 2 feet from my feet. And then you started whining "mamamama." As soon as I picked you up you were all smiles! :) I loved it. You also laid down on your knees! You had your knees bent, toosh up in the air, and head on the ground. One of the cutest poses I have ever seen! You are also feeling much better. Your nose is still runny, but your mood is back to normal and you aren't sneezing very much. Woohoo!

Icky-Sickies

Well... because it just wouldn't be you if you didn't get sick at least once this season, over the weekend you came down with a serious cold. Snot pretty much drains from your nose all day long. Your little nose is all red from all the wiping. Tonight was such a struggle to get you to bed. First, you had a blowout. It was bath night anyways, but it was quite a mess! And then after daddy gave you a bath and got you ready for bed, you became very crabby. It was about 7:00P when we laid you down because you were giving all the signs that you were sleepy. You were screaming at the top of your lungs while lying in bed. You were fighting it so bad. You were so tired, but yet did not want to go to sleep. Me and daddy didn't know what to do! Usually you go right to sleep. We're not used to you being difficult at bed time. After about 10 minutes of you crying daddy came in and got you. We let you hang out for a little bit with us and then tried to put you to bed again. The same thing. You cried and cried and cried. I came in there and wiped your nose and face down because it was all a mess from the crying. Then I held you for a minute and laid you back down. Yet again, more crying. It just wasn't like you! This is how we know you really aren't feeling good. About 15-20 mins later I came in there to check on you. You were sleeping but still hadn't caught your breath so you were making weird hiccupy noises. The noises kids make when they cry super hard and their breathing goes unstable. It was so sad. I really didn't like seeing you like that at all. I then noticed the blanket was soaked. Your cheek smelled a little weird to me too so I thought maybe you had thrown up from all the crying. I took the blanket out from under you to wash it. Now, I'm at Gramma's and you are at home with daddy. Sleeping. I hope you feel much better very soon sweet pea!

Vacay

Oh my goodness baby girl! You had such a fun weekend! Unfortunately you are sick... what else is new though? You get sick pretty often. I'm sorry. I should have nursed :( Anyhoo... you rode on a jetski for the very first time with daddy! He didn't go too fast so don't worry... I did the worrying for you :) It was a success though and you loved it. We got up to grampa Davey's cabin on Saturday and just got home today. It was a long drive home. Since you aren't feeling well, you didnt' sleep at all on the way back. Even though it was already passed your usual bedtime. You're nose has just been so stuffy. Everytime you sneeze it just shoots out! Sorry to say, but your mama is a neat freak so I can't help but wipe your nose every time I see snot. Your nose is a little rosey from all the rubbing. Now that we are home and you're in your own bed, you are sound asleep. I can't wait to follow suit! I am one pooped out mommy! It was a very fun weekend for you and me both. I enjoyed it more-so because you did. Love ya babe! :)

So Big!

Ok... I've decided to start a blog just for you baby girl! I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up on a daily basis. Today is daddy's birthday and we have a wedding to go to tonight. You will be staying with Aunt Crystal for the night. I am pretty darn nervous. You don't know her very well because you haven't been around her all that much. I'm hoping you aren't too much of a problem. You've become pretty attached to your mama and daddy in the past month or so. Your cousin Lexi is super excited to see you though! She absolutely LOVES you! Don't worry though. Mom will be there bright and early tomorrow morning to pick you up. I am going to miss you like crazy! I hope I can handle it. :) Last week you turned 10 months old! I just can't believe how fast time has gone by. You can officially scoot yourself to wherever the heck you want to go. I put a big storage tub in front of one of the openings to the kitchen and you just pushed it out of the way. I knew right then and there that you were going to be a mischevious one. And lately you have been making the weirdest faces EVER. For example:

And that is just one of the many that I have caught on camera. You are a goon! And you do this thing where you breath heavily out your nose like you're frustrated or something. Me and daddy sure do get a kick out of it! As all parents say about their own kids... YOU, missy miss, are the cutest darn baby ever! :)
