1-year old

Ok so technically you turned 1-year old about a week ago. September 11, 2009 to be exact. But I have been busy and forgetting to blog to you. I'll recap:
On your birthday, we ran some errands getting things ready for your birthday party the next day at grandma Michelle's. We had a 12-month appointment scheduled for you, but we decided that we didn't want you to get shots on your birthday! So we called and rescheduled. We went out to Applebee's for dinner with daddy's friend, Chas (it was his birthday too!). Daddy and I fed you some of our delicious Three Cheese Chicken Penne. Mmmm! You were hungry. Then the Applebee's employees brought you a sundae and sang happy birthday to you! It was so cute. You started clapping right along with the employees and smiling. After dinner, we went home and mommy undressed you all the way down to your diaper. (We were about to feed you cake. Didn't want you to get any on your clothes.) At first, you didn't know what to do with the big piece of cake. You poked it and picked it up and flipped it over. Then daddy shoved both your hands in it and your face lit up! You started digging your fingers in it, and playing with the frosting in your hands. It was the cutest thing! I took quite a few pictures so there definitely is evidence of the incident. Oh, and you did eat some of it too.

The next day was the day of your 1st birthday party! Boy, was it stressful! We had to set up tables and put up decorations. Put the food outside and make the salads. Daddy and his friend went to Sam's Club to pick up your cake and some more food items. People started showing up about 12:30. Everything started off well. Overall, you did a great job. You had your fussy moments, but you let a bunch of different people hold you (which isn't like you most of the time). You got tons of gifts too! Lots of clothes and new toys. It was a very successful day. By the end of the night, you were pooped out.

Now, today... you and I went to visit Stefanie! She always loves to see you. Then it was time to go home. Daddy, mommy, and you all went out to dinner at the Green Mill. You, little missy, are picking up on some bad manners. Lots of spitting and yelling was going on at our table. We'll have to work on those. Now, you are in bed and sleeping. When daddy checked on you, he came into the living room telling me to come in there right away. He had a big smile on his face. I walked in your room and you had Scooby on top of your head, and you were on your tummy laying on panda! You had your little tooshy somewhat up in the air as well. It was another one of the cutest things I've ever seen! You are just like daddy. Both of you sleep in very goofy positions.
